The Professor And The Wizard
Have you ever felt stupid and incompetent because when it came to Internet Marketing you didn’t know whether to turn to the left or to the right?
If that is the case, stop beating yourself up. Even a high-flying University Professor experienced the same feelings of hopelessness.
The good news is that neither you nor the Professor is stupid or incompetent.
The even better news, is that there is a solution, and you don’t have to stumble around in darkness any longer.
Read on… (ESPECIALLY THE COMMENTS)
Mary is no stranger to complex information.
After all, she has earned a good living from processing complex subjects, and presenting the information in easily digestible chunks to her students. Mary is a University Professor.
Mary also has years of experience in personal development, career development, online education, business communication, seminar training. With her background as a seminar leader and communications specialist, she never expected to have any problems understanding Internet Marketing and related subjects. Mary is a high flyer.
But that wasn’t enough for her.
Beyond the Ivory Tower
Mary really wanted to make a difference, and to help others. She is a professor who has always been eager to share her varied and extensive range of skills with the thousands of people all over the world that need her expertise. All she needed was a medium that would put her in touch with these people.
The Internet was that medium.
Being the visionary that she is, Mary realised early on that the Internet had the potential to transform the business landscape on a grand and global scale. It is no surprise that she became an early adopter of the Internet.
She was one of the very first Professors to use the Internet as a medium for delivering lectures.
Smoke and Mirrors
When Mary decided to use the Internet as a medium to reach out beyond the world of academia she had a rude awakening.
She quickly realised that it was not enough to have a website. She was not going to make an impact on anyone’s life if nobody knew her website existed, or if the website had no visitors.
Welcome to the world of Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO)…
This professor, however, was not prepared for all the hype, misinformation, conflicting advice and information overload that is rife in Internet Marketing. Mary was determined to discover how Internet Marketing really worked, but the harder she studied… the more confused she became. Poor Mary didn’t know what to do, or who to believe.
Mary had knowledge at the highest level… had years of experience to back it up… she was ready to offer her services… she even had a website.
But the website had no traffic, and Mary had no clients, even though there were thousands of people on the Internet desperately seeking for someone just like her.
How could a University Professor struggle to understand something as supposedly simple as Internet Marketing?
How could someone who had succeeded at everything else she had done, fail as an Internet Marketer? Was the unimaginable about to happen?
The professor needed a miracle…
The Professor meets the Wizard
And then along came Oz – the Professor’s very own Wizard Of Oz.
She had heard that Oz was a clever writer, but Mary didn’t really need a clever writer who would bamboozle her. What she wanted was someone who could present the facts in a clear manner.
The Professor needed somene to put her out of her misery.
Not knowing what to expect, she invested in one of Oz’s highly acclaimed reports… and almost instantly the cobwebs were removed from her eyes.
The report shattered all the myths she had been led to believe by the gurus, and it proved beyond all doubt that Mary could attract targeted traffic to her website without having to get caught up in 1-way, 2-way, 3-way or even 7-way links.
A light bulb went off for Mary, and she promptly invested in another report from the Wizard of Oz… and then another and another. Before long she had read all of Oz’s reports.
And the result?
Happily ever after…
The Professor can now find a lucrative niche in less than 15 minutes… and she knows how to identify the keywords that will allow her to quickly get her website to the top of Google and other search engines.
This means that she knows how to find the people who need her services, and how to get these same people to visit her website.
The experts call this targeted traffic, and that is exactly what Mary needed all along, but she just couldn’t figure out what she needed to do to get targeted traffic.
Mary no longer gets embroiled in all the endless and needless debates… like the one on Duplicate Content. She knows when to use Duplicate Content, and when to avoid it. And if for some reason she can’t or doesn’t want to create content herself, she also knows where to get good quality content for nothing or next to nothing.
She even knows how to use that free (or almost free) content to earn lots of money if she wanted to.
To cut a long story short, Oz has helped Mary finally get to grips with the essentials of Internet Marketing, and made her stop running after every over-hyped Product Launch… hoping that it would turn out to be the magic potion to end all her problems.
The professor has already found her magician.
As a result, she is now able to focus on leveraging her expertise, and offering exceptional value to her clients, and no longer has to tear her hair out over Internet Marketing.
She discovered the truth and the truth set her free…
Free from the hype… free from the deceit… free from the misinformation, and free from the confusion.
The Wizard called Oz, not for the first time, had done his Magic!
A pattern emerging?
Surprisingly but rather unfortunately, Mary’s experience is not unique. For instance, Bary was seriously pissed off because he only discovered the Wizard after wasting thousands of dollars on the hype… on the deceit… and on the misinformation.
Are you still wasting your hard earned money?
Do you want to be set free?
Many others have experienced the Magic of Oz, and are happy to share their story. Do yourself a favour… and read these stories, because it is very likely that you will identify with a few of them.
Will you be the next to share your story?

Hi, Oz!
It’s Professor Mary here. Congratulations on your new site.
These days, who isn’t looking for extra income or a retirement nest egg? Most of us have knowledge and solutions worth sharing, so the lure of onine income is strong.
What I found were thousands of products selling “easy” Internet marketing methods that don’t work, leave out key details, or make everything hopelessly complex. My years of online teaching, program development, marketing, and technical experience didn’t protect me from wasting thousands of dollars.
Almost every “newbie” online has a similar story.
It’s easy for anybody to get overwhelmed and confused by conflicting SEO, keyword research, backlinking, and “next best thing” nonsense being published to make more money. I thought buying software and automation tools would make life easier. Most of that software never worked right or featured blackhat methods Google banned within months.
Your careful testing, intelligence, humor, honesty, and clear instructions were such a breath of fresh air to me. If there’s more than one way to do something, you say so. And if you’ve found a proven way, you provide the clear blueprint, step by step with some laughs in between.
I’m glad you didn’t confine your publishing to the marketing forums. Sure, you were a big hit, but now even more people can discover your simple breakthrough reports here.
Cheers,
Mary

Hi Mary…
Thanks for being an inspiration and motivator to me.
I’ve gained so much from your tireless research and unerring ability to summarise a product in one sentence – ‘sexy high school video’ by a certain big name marketer comes to mind.
You are so right about products that leave out important details. Some auhors don’t know any better, because they are just ripping off the first poduct they lay their hands on, without realising that the product itself is an incomplete ripoff – not that they could care less.
Other authors will sell $200 products that are created to rope you into their $1,000 course where ‘all the details’ (except the important ones are revealed). For the really useful ones, you have to enroll on their $10,000 coaching program.
The customer suffers in the end, as always. Many (newbies) don’t even know that what they hold in their hands are incomplete products, and when they ‘fail’ they don’t realise that they were setup to fail from the very beginning. What a shame!

I am glad I discovered the “wizard” on time..
Although I had got a level of success before knowing Oz, his reports and writing were a great inspiration for me and made a huge difference in my business.
I hope I discovered him earlier, this would save me thousands of dollars (literally) and months of frustration.
And what I really like about this guy is that his writing is really addictive, enjoyable and valuable

Hey Bary,
Good to see you here.
Thanks for unwittingly alerting me to the fact that there is wide big gaping gap in the market for affordable IM products that actually share useful information, and present that information with clarity.
When you mentioned that you had wasted thousands of dollars on useless products, it took me a while to realise that I should position myself as the guy that plugs that hole.

Hi Oz,
I admit I’m a skeptic. Having bought many internet authority/guru products, I found many to be fluff or worse.
SEO and getting found online is a concern for not only me, but my clients as well. Your reports are easy to read and filled with great information that can quickly be put to use.
Just call me an owner of Oz products who knows what you say works. I’ve tried the methods and continue implementing them.
Keep looking forward to the next ones you release. Thanks

when I first started in IM about 3 years ago, it seems that only the guru type products were available at the time. So I spent a lot of money buying their products. Most of them were systems that were unsuitable for new marketers.
Then I discovered the Warrior Forum which was like being in a candy shop, having so much variety of products.
I have gradually built up my resource library and only make purchases that enable to keep up to date with changes in the IM field.
I find that Oz’s products are original and he gets my respect .He brings theory into practice by testing beforehand and then provides a solution to the problem.

The first IM product I bought was actually a WSO. Most of the gurus appeared to be scammers to me. At least with WSOs you had some independent third-party feedback… although scammers can and do abuse the system.

Hello Oz,
In an Internet Marketing (IM) landscape that is littered with hype and copycatting, Oz, your materials are unique, refreshingly well written and informative.
And enjoyable to read. Who said learning cant be fun, eh? — learning how to make money, in this case.
For those who havent yet had the pleasure, let me say this. Oz has burst onto the IM scene with a rare combination of strong analytical skills and the ability to write clearly. His observations arise from his analytical ability… as an engineer in his pre-internet life, I believe.
In the copywriting arena, many folks can write powerfully… in part because they copy the advertising masters and they use the headlines and words and sentences that have stood the test of time as proven high-earning sales words. Oz doesnt.
In my case, I’d swallowed some assumptions from who-knows-where and it was damaging my online success without my knowing it. So I am indebted to Oz for sharing, in particular, two vital concepts about link building. I had NO IDEA that I was getting them so wrong until reading his reports on backlinking. Since acting on what I learned from “the wizard of Oz” (hey, good name!), things have turned around.
Thanks, Oz.
Keep writing.
Gary Harvey
PS:
If I could be so bold as to suggest that when you wrote “A light bulb went off for Mary”, what you really meant was that a light bulb went ON for Mary. I trust that Mary felt *illuminated* by what she learned. Not left in the dark.

You are right Gary, I was an engineer in a previous life… or should we just say that I have a couple of engineering degrees. Although, I only practised as an engineer for one year, I think the training has come in very useful.
Right again… it’s ON. I made the correction. Thanks.
I’m very glad you’ve been able to undo the damage that had been done earlier. If a veteran like you can be taken in by the ‘opportunists’ masquerading as experts, what chance does a newbie stand?

In a steaming jungle crawling with vipers, panthers, and anacondas, Oz is a guide to a safe haven and a long drink of cool water.
He strives to give and to help — with honor, clarity, and integrity. His reports are honest, straightforward, and concise, and always offer pivotal information to help you cut through the dense hanging vines and reach your destination safely.
Yes, I have, like all wanderers in the dark jungle, fallen prey to the voracious beasts that roam through the underbrush, sniffing for fresh blood.
I have wasted hours, and dollars, searching for the elusive Shangri-La.
I have gigabytes and gigabytes of stuff I have skimmed and set aside to read “later.” And “later” never comes.
The problem is time, and focus, and money.
So many promises, so little time (and money).
I have Oz’s 3 in 1 Special. It’s an excellent bargain (makes me feel like I scored a great jacket on the clearance rack!) and is full of very specific new “secrets” that help me hone my campaigns in ways that other marketers products did not.
How to know which of the promised paths will lead you forward? Hire Oz as your guide. He works hard to give you hidden jewels of guidance at prices everyone can afford.

Hi Oz, love you writing style and very happy to see you are starting a blog now.
I have bought quite a few IM products in the past few months and I have been lucky with a lot of them. Most of them lived up to their promises, though none have been completely life changing. My background as a social media consumer really made the way I look at most IM products differently because I truly believe in the interaction with customers and potential customers.
When I read Oz’s reports, especially the Q Experience, as I haven’t bought the Q Factor yet, I knew I was on the right trail so I bought a few more of his reports. I don’t regret it at all. I am in the process of applying the principals he teaches as well as other things I have learned and thanks to Oz I am moving forward much faster than I would be.
The only other thing I can recommend really, and I see Oz has a report coming out about that is getting a Virtual Assistant to apply a lot of the products you currently own because that will free up some of your time as well as make your money back for you on the products you have purchased but haven’t applied yet.

Very few people get it right first time or so early… not because they are stupid, but because they are unwittingly led down the wrong path.
Stick to what you know works, and only deviate after you are consistently successful.
You are spot on, Adam… getting a Virtual Assistant is indeed a game changer, as my friend Steve Fullman is wont to say.
However, the VA I have in mind will surprise a lot of you.

So I guess I am a little different because I have a lot of experience with over promise and under deliver in another market. I can’t wait to see what you have in store and want to thank you in advance for picking me as the winner

This post is part of an ongoing journey into the internet marketing arena. About a year ago I thought about shifting gears in my life because I was restless and not satisfied with the consulting business I was engaged in. I then explored a multitude of businesses while sitting at airports waiting for planes not leaving on time. I wonder if anyone has calculated how much of our life is spent waiting on line…I’m digressing…anyway I stumbled upon the home based online business crowd an became intrigued that people could make a full time income from home. Well, I confess I actually fell for all the hyperbole put forth by the whole industry(?). Work in you pajamas and never leave home, who can resist that? I was hooked.
Needless to say, I embarked on a buying spree of informational products that lasted for many months and I am too embarassed to say how much I spent for what little I recieved. As a person who has spent thousands of dollars for traditonal university brick and mortar education and online university courses, I was totally flabbergasted by the convoluted “books & courses” I got for the money I paid. Trash and garbage would be a more appropriate description. The stuff stunk so bad that the office cleaners wouldn’t touch it.
I summarily dismissed the whole IM business/industry notion until I started reading the Warrior Forum just recently and discovered Oz. Oz’s writings have reinvigorated me and I am reevaluating entering the IM arena again. Oz looks at the larger picture in his writings all the while giving you practicle actionable steps to achieve your ends. He gives you a foundation that you can build on and the fundamentals he lays out will cause you broaden the breadth of your business.
Everyone. Class is in session. Follow the yellow brick road with the wizard that is Oz. Excessive hyperbole excluded. Quality and integrity guaranteed.

Mark I am glad that I am not the only one that is shocked by the abject nonsense we are happy to pay ridiculous amounts of money for only because they are digital products.
A University Professor or Industry expert with tons of knowledge and decades of experience would literally spend years writing a book packed solid with useful and original information. It would be rare to see such a book sell for more than $50.
But in our wonderful IM industry, you will find teenagers boasting about how they spent two hours creating a product, and sold it for $97 a piece.
Don’t forget each unit of a physical book actually costs money and occupies space, whereas each copy of a digital product consists of just electrons which occupy no space.
They say it’s the New Economy… the Digital Economy.
Hmm… isn’t that what they were saying before the Dot Com crash of 2001?

The irony is that as product creators, we might actually make more money selling at more reasonable prices jsut by sheer weight of increased volume.
Nice blog you have there, by the way.

It’s all part of the learning curve.
When you are a newbie then you lap up every piece of information… If you are starting on low capital then you can’t afford to spend on tons of products. When you eventually discover the Warrior Forum, then suddenly you have access to all the information you need and can then make informed decisions.
Live and learn.
I don’t regret spending on this learning process… Not had enough money to waste, and I now know enough to make informed choices and can now decide if I want to buy into a specific program that suits my personal progress… Internet Marketing is vast, and finding one’s particular speciality is 90% of the battle to achieve the right mindset for success.

Hello Oz,
I came across your very thoughtful, carefully researched, & cleverly written reports only about 40 days ago when I purchased your Google Value Maximizer Concepts. What an eye opener! Very insightful. I printed it out & have now read it twice.
Since that 1st purchase I have added 5 more of your reports to my arsenal. I customarily scan all I.M. pdf’s before I decided to store them on my hard drive or print them out. Yours are among the very few that no longer has to pass that test. I print everything I get my hands on of yours and keep it right here near my desk.
I too like Alysan am a skeptic or jaded. It’s been a long haul to get where I am & I have made way to many mistakes. Wish I had found you a long, long time ago.
Looking forward to what’s next, what ever that might be.
Best Regards,
Dave
P.S. to those who may wonder is cleverly really a word ?
adj. clev·er·er, clev·er·est, clev·er·ly
1. Mentally quick and original; bright.
2. Nimble with the hands or body; dexterous.
3. Exhibiting quick-wittedness: a clever story.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your business!
It thrills me to bits when I notice someone go on a shopping spree with my products. It’s not the money so much as the affirmation that I must be doing something right.
The normal reaction most of us have after coming to the end of a product is to swear never to buy another product from that vendor again.
Did anyone give you grief about ‘cleverly’?

Oz.
My internet marketing “career” or non-career as it is so far started with one of those infamous “free” “business-in-a-box” schemes. It was my first introduction to even the idea of making money via the internet. The concept was completely new to me. I was amazed. Supposedly all I had to do was accept this free business with the website set up for me, pay for the hosting (required to be with a particular company), and watch the money come rolling in…The “seller” (remember it was “free”) claimed that he made no money unless I made money. Which of course was untrue. But I was completely naive. I didn’t have a clue. I had never heard of affiliate marketing or an affiliate link. But I am not stupid. It very quickly became clear to me that there was no reason for the money to come rolling in and that the website was useless. It offered no value. It was of no use to the world. Promoting MLM and other useless make-money-from-people-trying-to-make-money rubbish. Then I discovered that the hosting was under-supplied and over-priced and very poor value. And the business-in-a-box “non-seller” was getting a commission from the hosting company. So he had lied. Even if I made no money he received $10 per month from my hosting costs. It took me three months to work out what was going on and pull the pin. So I wasted $75 in hosting fees and much time. So the website provider only made $30 from me, but how many hundreds or thousands of other “newbies” was he getting $10 per month from? (This business-in-a-box was heavily promoted by some very well-known “super-affiliates” and members of the Warrior Forum.)
But now I had been introduced to the concept of making money from the internet.
I now had the idea of the internet as a medium for providing useful information to people to improve their health and their lives. I would start my own website, with my own products (I had had no control over “my” business-in-a-box website.)
So I now had learned that I would need web-hosting.
Next, I was influenced by a well-known internet marketer and a very well-known personal development blogger (and computer programmer), to take out an expensive hosting and website-building package. I trusted the personal development blogger (I still do). I think he honestly believed that “newbies” with no understanding of coding or SEO needed this package.
But! I still did not know about affiliate links. I did not know that the recommender had a strong incentive for promoting the deal. I did not know that he was going to receive a hefty proportion of the $400 I was paying for a year of the hosting/sitebuilding package.
It had sounded really god when described. But for me the reality was different.
There was 30-day guarantee but it took me several months of battling the hosting providers website before I understood that it was completely unsuitable for me and that I was never going to get my website built using their system. So, $400 wasted. (So $475 wasted just on hosting, so far.)
So then I did masses of research about web hosting for months. There was one company that was recommended over and over and over by internet marketers. So I took out hosting with them. Or tried to. What a battle to even get registered! Days and days and days of confusion and frustration!
By the most highly recommended hosting company on the internet. But eventually successful. And then I discovered that there system had a serious limitation built into it…it was confusing and very awkward and inefficient to use…
[I now use "reseller" hosting that I am relatively happy with, so far, but I suspect that it will not live up to my requirements when I am inundated with "laser-targeted traffic and avalanches of rabid buyers whipping out their credit cards and demanding to buy my hot products" in the future.]
So that was my introduction to internet marketing. It hasn’t got any better…but I am a little less naive…
I have bought many courses on making money on the internet. I have been disappointed in every one of them and have abandoned them without putting their recommendations into practice. The reason? They all promoted attitudes and tactics and techniques that I disagree with. Their interest was just in making money. They were not concerned with usefulness, quality or value. Generally, most marketers seem to have no concept of being a beneficial influence in the world.
Cheating, deception and manipulation seem to be standard in internet marketing.
(The FTC has a major battle on it’s hands in it’s attempt to improve the ethics and transparency of internet marketing.)
So this has been my internet marketing career so far…buying hosting, courses, software, autoresponder services etc and then discovering that they are not suitable for me.
I have spent thousands of dollars and achieved disappointment, overwhelm and confusion.
Marketers are making a mess of the internet.
Disappointment in internet marketers has been the one constant right through my experience with learning online marketing.
But this is not confined to internet marketing! I am constantly disappointed with the poor design and poor quality and utter uselessness of most of the products in the “real” world too. The better quality products often disappear because they are out-competed by inferior products with more successful marketing.
And the cause of this mess?
People who don’t care. People who don’t care just selling or promoting stuff just to make money.
Anyway, Oz, right now writing this comment is not what I am supposed to be doing. I am supposed to be building MY blog, not commenting on yours, so I better get back to it…
(I could go on and on about this indefinitely but I will finish up…)
Oz, the reason I befriended you on the Warrior Forum and am still on your email list is because you care. (I have unsubscribed from all the “gurus” and most other marketers “lists”.) You have ethics. I have bought several of your reports. You care for the quality of your products. You are very conscious of the “Q” factor. [And there are recent indications that you have discovered the "A" factor (and maybe the "V" factor?) (And the "U" factor?)]
Oz, your reports are worth reading. (Most internet marketing reports in my opinion are not worth reading let alone buying.) I would buy all your work if my finances allowed. Please persevere!

That sounds like a nightmare, Wayne.
For a very long time, I did not want to be associated with Internet Marketing because I felt it was a dirty game full of crooks. I thought that if I got involved in IM, I would get tainted with the the revolting filth.
It wasn’t until I became acquainted with quite a few ethical marketers on the Warrior Forum that I started getting comfortable with IM. I think that increasingly, more and more ethical and credible marketers will come to the fore.
The days when IM was the Wild West won’t last forever… at least that’s my prayer.
And you Wayne are going to have your day very soon.
BTW… when I become the President Of the Internet, I will ban Affiliate Marketing. JOKE!
But seriously, unscruplous Affililiate Marketers are responsible for so much woe, including yours obviously.

Oz,
There is so much crap online and finding your way through the minefield is one hell of a lot harder than it sounds. Whilst not in Mary’s intellectual league,or in Barrys thousands of dollars of debt I too have been struggling to find the solution and think that I might just be heading in the right direction now after some 6 months of research, investment and some income, although am not yet seeing a positive return on investment.
The key thing I have learnt over the past six months is that the number one key to anything but especially online where there are so many shiny new “excellent must have” products coming out every 10 minutes according to some of the gurus I follow, is to have laser sharp focus and before you start doing anything you need to know exactly what it is you want to do. I have stated on The Warrior Forum and I will state it again here is that your portfolio of products should be required reading for EVERYONE wanting to make their mark on the Internet Marketing World.
I was lucky I think in that I found your products early on in my voyage of discovery and they almost certainly helped me steer clear of many so called “newbie” errors.
I think everything that one buys has one or more nugget of useful information. What I so admire about your products is that they are always succinct, to the point and full of value.
For the future my key focus is on my list and on choosing the right products to develop, obtain rights to, or promote.
I think the future is golden and I am sure that your work will be an important part of it.
Incidentally some of the best advice I received is to Follow one system, one guru for one year or at least until you have taken everything you can before moving on to the next. The other is related to Focus and there are two acronyms for it that I find useful, Follow One Course Until Succesful from Robert Kiwosaki (This is the only thing I have read from him but I find it increasingly important on a day to day basis) and this one from some MLM Site (which is an area I have no interest in) but I think it applies equally to all on and offline endeavours: Foresight, Organise, Concentrate, Understand, Service.

Hi Oz,
You have a gift for taking very dry, esoteric topics and not only making them educational and entertaining to read – but you also give specific information so that we can understand how to apply this to our businesses.
Many people in the IM world want to stress a specific tactic or two. You stress actually “thinking” about what you’re doing, and doing it in the most effective way.
Keep ‘em coming…I don’t have all of what you’ve written, but I’ve used what I have and the results have been incredible!!!
Thank you!

I get jealous when people report incredible results from using my products. I never really have the time to put the stuff into practise.
Maybe I should quit all the research and writing, and stick to implementation.
Like Adam said above, we all need VAs. More on that in my email tomorrow.

“Have you ever felt stupid and incompetent because when it came to Internet Marketing you didn’t know whether to turn to the left or to the right?”
Hell, Yes!!
Reading Mary’s progress reminded me of my own. I was a College Teacher of Information Technology and Physics, familiar with computers and the web who got totally bamboozled by the Internet Marketing hype machine.( for years, ahem!)
I have several advanced qualifications and am well used to research and learning new stuff but it took me years to get a firm grip on I.M. due to the huge amount of downright rubbish being published.
Here are some obstacles the beginner faces
(1) lack of business experience – to “make money online” you have to build a business and approach it in the same way as you would in opening a High Street store. There are no shortcuts, loopholes or glitches in the search engine algorithm just stumbled upon by some lucky entrepreneur…
(2) there are several viable business models that you could use online and your job is to choose one and stick to it like superglue
(3) You do not have to learn HTML or how to “build” a website but you will, unless you are rich, have to learn a little of the technical lingo yourself
(4) Struggling alone leads to failing like all the other beginners do – you must find someone you can trust. I am not telling you who to trust and yes your trust can be betrayed – but you must find someone you can trust. If you don’t know who to trust – Oz would be a good choice
On the positive side – lots of us replying to this posts, could fill up a book with a whole load of complaints about the scams online and so on. However, simply because you are reading this you know of someone -Oz who thinks deeply and independently about Internet Marketing and can save you from expensive failure and much wasted time.
Consider your way forward carefully. It does not matter how long it has taken you to get here, you are here so well done. 95% of beginners did not make it and they’ve fallen already -where you go next and who with is the decision you have to make.
Good Luck with making that decision !

That word again – FOCUS!
I think I’ll post my email about the Power Of One. If people could just focus, I think success would come a lot easier for them.
Another academician. – no wonder I felt a connection with you. I have so much respect for you guys – I’ve got so many academicians in my family. Even my wife (bless her) lectures in a tertiary institution, and is so stressed out right now, because she is going through a Peer Review this week.
Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Hey, Oz…
While I was not mentioned in the report, I have to say that I am one of your admirers.
I like both your writing style (I would buy a book written by you on a different subject but SEO, too) and in the mean time the info you’re producing, especially the examples and tests you are running.
To be honest, while I’m a good SEO professional too, I had some interesting things to learn from your reports, but what meant the most to me is the fact that you’ve made me think really hard at writing a report as a WSO and I quite have an interesting idea by now… so you were like an inspiration, he, he.. (muse?)
Now, back to stories and such… here’s mine, briefly:
I started back in 2008 (I think was the end of Spring) when – while running a successful (at the time) offline business – I had maybe too much time to surf the Internet during office hours… HEY! Don’t blame me, LOL – I was the owner of that business, ok?
Now, as I had enough money and was eager to learn the new things, I quite spent a lot on ebooks, courses, etc… trying to make a buck or two – to no avail for a while, I reckon.
My mistake back then was that I treated the IM as hobby rather than a business, so success had to wait.
Time passes, the economy takes a deep nose dive and buries my business almost… so the need to do something online as an alternative became more pressing than I would have ever thought possible…
I ‘invested’ some money into a few flops (both personal as well as partnerships) online, tried outsourcing (but too late to have enough time and money to spend properly) and finally got myself in a position where I had to stop chasing dreams not to be accomplished soon and became aware that I need to do something properly to be successful: learn from the real guys making money (not the ‘Guru’ types showing off, but the hidden ones not willing to be spotted on the ramp lights.)
That is when I also understood that no matter the level of knowledge, i needed a mentor, not necessarily to learn from them, but rather to get advice and be accountable to someone (this is the worst characteristic of the online business model – being most of the time alone and not understood.)
Happily, all my journey brought me where I am today, considering myself an SEO expert, but a novice as well (learning from other people all the time) thus becoming one of Oz’s great FANs.
To share with you a bit of my online experience, let me tell you how I became interested in SEO in the first place:
When I started my online ‘adventure’ I’ve chosen to pick a scene name (pen name) to be easier to remember and pronounce by the English native speakers… therefore Steve Lorenzo was the obvious choice, being a loose translation of my originals.
But I never thought I should check first and to my surprise – after spreading it around all over the net – while I once wanted to check (out of curiosity) how I am standing in SERP’s, I found the first and second page of Google filled with a gruesome character, a Brooklyn born serial killer sharing the same name. AWFUL!
I fought with all my might to get rid of those references and I finally succeeded (maybe not 100% though…) to replace the most part of those links with different ones, showing ME instead.
To do so, I had to learn a great deal of tricks of the SEO trade, wearing the various hats needed: white, black, gray, or even blue… he, he…
Do I regret now?
Actually NOT!
I was stupid, indeed, in the beginning (to pick up such a name w/o a careful research) but in the process of cleaning I learnt a lot of useful stuff that in the end, finally helped me start making money.
So, dear Oz… hope to have enlightened your day with my story and as an avid reader (and buyer) of your reports – even to win a few more of them, huh?
In any case, I remain your faithful fan and admirer (hopefully a friend too) and wish you most of luck in all your endeavors!

We need real professionals to add to the body of SEO knowledge, so please get your report out there.
Does this mean that I can now count a natural born serial killer as a friend?
Like you, I actually learn a lot of my SEO by observation, and I noticed that a lot of the things the so called gurus and vendors tell us don’t actually hold up out in the field.

Mary’s story struck a chord with me. Like Mary, I have an academic background; though I’m primarily an artist, most people know me for what I write, online and off.
My adventures began in the mid-1990s, when I had no clue about the Internet . I thought is was an interesting place to connect with like-minded people, period. I began with a GeoCities website where I posted notes about my day, and the things I thought about. (I was one of the first to create what later became “blogs.”)
Those notes — under my pen name, Aisling D’Art (today at Aisling.net) — sparked questions from people who read my daily, deeply personal posts. They wanted to see my artwork. They wanted to know how I created the effects in it.
Organically, my website grew to include samples of my art, how-to instructions, and a variety of articles to answer people’s most-asked questions.
Somehow, I ended up with two websites — one for my art and one for my hobbies — with about 500 articles each, and a small but loyal following.
Somehow, I also got left in the dust, relying on word of mouth and organic traffic. SEO didn’t enter my vocabulary until about three years ago, and even now, I’m overwhelmed by the amount of information that seemed to surge… well, almost out of nowhere.
And frankly, much of it deserves to return to obscurity.
Today, I’m learning. Much SEO, PR and marketing information has survived the test of time. I keep a notebook of the best, to re-read regularly. There’s always more to learn.
Other reports — and far too many of them — were not only a colossal waste of my money (and printer paper), but an even more expensive loss: my time. Trying to twist my websites like a pretzel, to fit the recommended models… I’d spend weeks in the attempt (and at least another week, repairing the damage done). I wanted to believe that those reports’ advice would produce the results they claimed. Unfortunately, I lost ground more often than I gained it.
At this point, I can spot a rehashed report within three sentences. About 90% of what’s being sold to website owners offers nothing new. That’s the danger of it; the watered-down versions of others’ information may ring true initially, but it has even less likelihood of actually working for those who spend $17, $97, or $197 on those reports and time-munching videos.
Scientific Niche Research is one of the most refreshing and useful reports I’ve read in a long time. Starting with the best of what really works, this report immediately soars in new directions that not only work, they work quickly. That information is concise and has guided me, step-by-step, to conquer many long-tail keywords in my niches.
Instead of vague suggestions, such as “pick a keyword with a lot of interest,” this report shares the exact numbers I’m looking for. Even better, they’re not the numbers — or the techniques — that others recommend; these actually work. I usually see results at Google within two or three days, and sometimes within hours.
Thank you for going beyond wistful claims of “land the #1 spot at Google!” and actually delivering it. We can’t all be #1 for single-word keywords, but you’ve taken us past that. Your Scientific Niche Research report shows us how to find keywords that are easy to dominate and — even better — add up to solid, converting traffic.
And, oh yes, Scientific Niche Research is on my desktop where I can refer to it regularly, and a “cheat sheet” version is on the bulletin board over my monitor.
Thanks again!

Hi Eihblin,
I had to pace myself before responding to your inspirational story. I’ve had a look at your Aisling.net site and it is fab.
I too, believed the mantra – ‘build it & they will come’. I had a Stock Market website that delivers a top quality product. I imagined that was all I needed to do. How wrong was I?
I am frustrated by the amount of IM junk we have to put up with.
I am also jealous that you’ve had so much success with SNR.
Results in a few hours? You’ve taken the information in SNR, and used it very cleverly, indeed.
Well done, Eibhlin.

Hi Oz,
My story is not unlike a lot of affiliate marketers. I’ve been at it now for over 3 years and have spend thousands of dollars on just about every program that’s come along in that time span. With the exception of a few (emphasis on few), those products have flat out failed to deliver on their said promises.
I guaranty you that my lack of success with those products is not due to a lack of effort on my part. I’m not one to spend my hard earned money on those digital products or any other product for that matter, only to leave them to collect the proverbial digital dust on my hard drive. I actually devoted a lot of time and effort on all those products and going through all the steps that the so called gurus said would lead to financial freedom.
Well, I’m happy to say that now I can actually see a little flicker of light at end of the long internet marketing tunnel. That little light began to shine when I started buying some of your reports. I can honestly say that I’ve learned more from your short reports than I learned from all those high price products combined.
I’m not giving up or should I say I refuse to give up because I’m convinced that online financial success is achievable so long as I have access to the right information. I think your reports definitely contain valuable information that if followed could lead to the elusive internet marketing success.
Blessings,

Hey Oz,
glad to find out about your blog. This will be a great way to communicate the intricate truths of IM that you do so well. I can only agree with so much of what has been stated above: over-hyped, undelivered, fluffy half truths. So much of what’s ot there sound good and give “some” good information, but they hold out on a few details or crucial information that’s needed to really make it work. I have found your reports to be informative, easy to follow and right on target. Beyond that they have been a joy to read. keep ‘em coming!

Hi Oz, AJ here and just wanted to echo what others have said. I purchased your reports because the your marketing stood you apart as being fluff free, direct and I anticipated both useful and profitable.
Thankfully you fullfilled my expectations – an unfortunately rare experience.
As for my IM story, well I guess it is a little different to most. I officially entered the “IM” market in October last year with my first IM product offering.
I have to admit that there was a certain amount of frustration behind my initial product in that I kept seeing people chasing the IM dragon (and yes I do think the Make Money Online addition to rubbish ebooks is akin to a smack habit).
So, rather than hype up the make a squillon dollars over night the primary business module I shared was based on repurposing content for the offline market. I also shared half a dozen ways to take PLR and turn it in to something useful and profitable.
My second product was based on building a 6 or 7 figure business over 10 months. Easily attainable with focus and application, rather than the regular clickbank product claim of over night riches. My first 8 weeks online I generated approx $13k from solid business principles rather than any IM fad or technique.
The saddest thing I had to was refund a guy who bought my first product. The gist of his refund request was that my product did not work.
Investigating the situation I enquired which of the 6 methods had he implemented, where were his sites, could I do anything to help, etc, etc.
Turns out he expect to make money after having bought the product. That was it. Purchase product and start making money. Oh if it were that simple
Anyway, when I came across your Q report I felt vindicated in my anti-hype stance. IM is a process at best, it is not even a business model, mearly one route to market for the owner or operator of a business with products or services to sell.
I think there are too many people wanting to believe the “smack-pushers” supposed IM dream.
The biggest joke is the “Autopilot” myth. I fly planes for a hobby and before you can even turn on the AP you must first learn to fly the plane! If I got in to a TwinStar and just turned on the AP guess what would happen…excatly nothing.
So how can you automate a business if you a) don’t have one or b) don’t understand the core prinicples at work in the business.
Yet people spend $000′s on autopilot branded junk!
My internet business is a full time occupation. I choose to work hard and I will choose how to enjoy my copious rewards after I have built a sustainable, profitable proper business.
Way more than 2c worth but you did ask
AJ

AJ, I’m jumping the queue to respond to your very insightful comment, because you have actually set the stage for my next post (tomorrow), and I wanted to make my response (to your comment) today NOT tomorrow.
The autopilot issue is something I’ll be addressing tomorrow, and I was going to make the very same point you made about flying an airplane in autopilot mode.
Hey… I hope you are not suggesting the Internet is just one of several channels. You might get lynched by the iPolice. Did you not know that the Internet is IT… and nuffink else comes close?
On a more serious, you certainly came flying out of the traps…what with your instant success.
I am sure it was no fluke. What can you share with any newbies reading this; to help them replicate your success. It goes without saying that hardwork is a prerequisite.
Do you not think that stakeholders in the IM industry actually encourage the smack-pushing you speak off and stifle the Q Factor? By stakeholders, I mean superaffiliates, JV Brokers, Affiliate Managers etc.
Good night. It’s almost midnight here.
[Reply]
Wow, Wayne, your story could be mine. Bet we both bought the same site from the same seller. And at least you realised you needed hosting! I had never heard of it and didn’t have a clue why I needed it. I just figured things on the Internet were just ‘there’, lol.
As for you Oz petal.
I like getting your emails. I love your ethics. Finally someone who ‘gets’ how hard it is for newbies and even those not so new when you keep going round in circles and wondering just how the hell anyone manages to make any money by doing what they’re telling you to do.
And of course, that’s the kicker isn’t it. They’re not making their money with the systems, reports, courses, manuals, secrets,…. that they’re selling to us. Most of what they sell is just a pile of crap, and by the time you figure it out, your bank account is dry and your respect for humankind is waaaay in the red.
I’d love to think you can turn it around, though you have a pretty tough challenge on your hands. Still, “if something is important enough you will find a way”.

Hi Petal
I made my mistakes (about believing the hype) in the Stock market niche, which believe it or not is several orders of magnitude worse than the IM niche. By the time I got to IM, I was street-wise and didn’t waste my money on guru products.
I have bought my fair share of duds, though, but at least they were priced at $20 and not $2,000.
[Reply]
Well, I’ve been on the IM bandwagon for about 2 years now. My journey is more of a roller coaster of emotions, getting excited by the possiblities which lay before me, and more often than not, getting to the end of a long sales page/video to be face by “3 easy payments of $997″ .
I have bought some products put out by the gurus, but I have to say I have been one of the hated people who have actually taken advantage of the 30-day guarantee, after being disappointed by the products I received.
The main product I have stuck with was a step by step course in ecommerce selling tangible goods. I won’t give them any credit here, but although it has been a slow burner, I think there is merit in their teaching and their support has been excellent.
I heard about the Warrior Forum through Angela’s backlinks, and almost laughed out loud (I think I actually giggled like a girl) when I found out there was a group of internet marketers who could actually be real people and not some superstars driving Ferraris and boasting about their 20 surfboards….
I’ve really only started learning about Oz through the Warrior Forum and bought his Backlink Blackbook a week ago, which is straightforward, and a nice blueprint (4 actually) for developing backlinks. I’m quite used to the backlink game, having read a bunch on the subject, but I really appreciated the clarity of Oz’s writing, and would recommend others to buy it. If nothing else, you have to spot the difference in the price tag, which seems to be missing a zero compared to lots of other inferior articles on the subject.
Cheers Oz. I have to say that I was shocked when he wrote back to me by email near the beginning of the year when he emailed asking about our New Year’s resolutions. I was surprised he didn’t have a PA do that for him.
Anyway, I am a growing fan of Oz’s, and glad he’s not leading us down the yellow brick road to a place filled with smoke and mirrors like so many others!

LOL Chris. I don’t have any assistants, although it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with correspondence, and that’s my excuse for responding so late to many of these comments.
Using PAs to respond to correspondence is actually one of the few things I don’t hold against gurus. If I am struggling with just a few emails, I can only imagine what it’s like for these guys that have thousands of customers and subscribers. It becomes physically impossible for one person to personally respond to all the emails and still run a business.

Hi Oz! I only recently discovered your work, and I have to say, it has been eye opening. I started almost a year ago now, but haven’t really made very much over that time. The first product I bought gave a method to use, but it was just confusing – she didn’t really explain how things worked or really what to do for each step. I remember saying “RSS feeds? What’s that!”
But over time I have learned a lot, and while I have yet to make a living wage online, I’m getting closer all the time. I think the key is getting the basics, and then just consistently applying them and figuring out what works for you.
However, I know it will take time for me (I only have about two hours a day to work). But I’m sure this will eventually change my family’s life for the better!

It bothers me that I pay good money to purchase a product only to find out that the producer of the product does not care enough to even spell check the document let alone edit it for grammar and/or usage.
I have also purchased articles from you that were some of the best. I’m sorry to hear that you are no longer in the ghost writing biz.

Hello Oz,
I guess you are still sleeping now. I got up very early as I am catching a plane this morning and will be away, computer-deprived, for several day. I was almost annoyed
when you send us the email with the program of your emails for this week. How neat! I thought, why on earth does he have to do it this week. Yes, I look forward to your emails.
I am also a fan of your writing style and your particular inner substance, and own several of your reports. After reading the first I realized how poor is the language most marketers use in IM products. Not that mine is so good, not being an English speaker, mind you! I can’t help it, I love elegant writing; I used to be a translator.
Anyway, I keep my email box quite empty of absurd hype. I am extremely selective with the emails I receive. One of my first criteria for staying on someone’s list is that he/she has to have and develop his/her own ideas. And you certainly have you own vision of marketing. I keep on rereading your reports and they are helping me to reflect and understand how I want to work.
I am in a bit of a transition right now. I started my Internet life with large content web sites, and the power of habit seems to be too strong. I have now started with smaller more product-oriented sites and your reports are helping me to focus, do the research and go towards marketing techniques more suitable for my present goals.
And I love the “Peace onto you” part too. Thanks.

I too, like everyone else, got caught up in the IM information overload cycle until I took action on something. Once I took action everything fell into place. You see the gurus are mostly only rehashing what we already know and selling it to us again with pretty graphics in the hope that we never take action so that they can sell to us again and again.
Pick one thing and take action on it. Follow it through until you see something happen, then you can build on it.
Hope this helps someone

Simple is good. Personally, nowadays if it says anything like destroying, shredding, killing, dominating on the label, I usually pass. If I get the same email 5 times in a row from 10 different marketers, I pass, if the sales page has more than one exit splash popup I really pass.
Oz explains things simply, that has helped me a lot.

A lot of things are sold with that sort of image in IM. The idea that if you don’t go and gte yours and in teh process beat someone up and take theirs too, you will fail miserably. Products sold with this sort of marketing reputation appeal to a lot of folks, pertinent disclaimer alert: they used to appeal to me too., but they do not anymore.
Part of it was that my view of the world changed in a couple significant ways.
I now think there is plenty to go around for everyone and I didn’t need to steal anything form anyone. not there list, not their keywords, not their content, most of those things are available for free anyway. And I did not need to take them by force from anyone.
I realized that the same group of people were always promoting each others products, and actually cooperating instead of competing, even though they wer selling products strictly for the competition model.
I got tired of reading that I had to kill somone, murder somone, slay someone, destroy someone, annihilate someone, “legally” steal someone elses’s hard work, rip off someone because they had been keeping secrets from me. And I didn’t do those things in real life, so why would I think they were good for me to do online. All it takes is small amount of searching to find headlines and product names with all those marketing phrases in them.
That is not to say that everythin in th eIM world runs like this, it does not. But I realized that I was on a steady diet of testosterone fueled mean spirited hype steadily fed to me by a bunch of people who just wanted my money. SO not only was I ingesting all this garbage that was bad for me, I had to pay for it.
I don’t always make perfect decisions now, I have invested plenty of money in junk like I have just written about, but in general my decisions are based now on what I need to do for my own business, not on someone’s marketing campaign, who really just wants me on their list to make a commission on the ir buddy’s product which is launching next week.

I’m too embarrassed to reveal how long I’ve been fooling myself into thinking that I’m actually working on a legitimate “online business”… or how much $ I’ve spent on garbage IM products… or how many “gurus” I’ve actually trusted to provide meaningful information. At the end of the day, I’m every bit as gullible as the glass-eyed newbie who thinks that Internet marketing is the panacea for winning the rat race.
On the bright side Oz, your information is valuable on so many levels and I feel fortunate to have “discovered” you. I’m looking forward to the Google Value Maximizer System, your upcoming workshop and to be clear…

And please don’t change your mind about the 3 case studies… I’m interested in them as well

It’s clear from posts on WF, here, and most everywhere else that Mary and Barry’s stories are the norm. Add my name to the list and there will still be thousands after me. I often feel that there should be an association or certification of some kind that ‘police’ the industry……if ‘gurus’ and others had to have a stamp of approval that indicated they were ethical perhaps things would change. Otherwise, we will just be older, wiser, hopefully have more money in the bank but still reading these kinds of experiences five years from now.
Over the last 3 weeks I have been unsubscribing from various lists I have joined in the six months I have been trying to make something of my IM activities. Unfortunately, I have an addiction to information and I keep downloading WAR room freebies. Who knows, it might give me article content in the future or a niche idea!!
The first thing I read of yours, Oz, was the Q Experience, and it resonated enough that I still have it. But, the list of ‘gurus’ and IMers who purport to be ‘different’ and fed up of the ‘BS’ they see being dished out, is getting bigger. It’s as though espousing no ‘BS’ and ‘telling it like it is’ has just become the latest selling technique while underneath there is still the same old crap.
The only way to really separate the wheat from the chaff is to just keep paying attention and see how people do business. So far you are still on my reading and ‘pay attention to’ list……………but I have been bitten so many times I can’t take the giant leap yet and say ‘you da man!’.
But I am still here
As for your post today……….I still don’t have a clue what you were talking about! LOL!!

It’s no surprise that there is a common thread running through all these stories – we all buy products from the same marketplace, and very few of the popular products were designed to make us independent. If anything they were designed to make us even more dependent on ‘them’.
I’m not sure I knew what I was talking about today, either.

I only wish there was a “flee market” where I could sell all my products that I’ve
bought and collected cyber-dust on over the years. I amaze myself with how
much I spend in one months time because I do a monthly tally of all my purchases.
I look at each purchase and sometime say “damn, that is a pretty good product, I
should start using it” not remembering I bought it i the first place.
Information overload, bright shiny new objects, the next big thing. It’s pretty hard
to not get caught up with all the hype and glitter that prevails in this industry. So
your little story sounds all too familiar. After buying all these products over the years,
I think there’s one thing that nobody seems to really talk about. It’s the ADDICTION
to buying stuff. I think many people, me included, just become purchase junkies
to get some kind of a high from just buying “something”.
Even though I am seriously working on major projects, I still buy stuff I really don’t
need just because it gives me that purchase high. Maybe there’s a 12 program for
us junkies. Is that what your new program and concept is about?
Oh oh, a couple more interesting products on Warrior Forum WSO page. I gotta go
and get a fix!

All these stories All the wasted money time and goodwill. Destroyed never to be seen.
I’ll keep my story short. After 3+ years, income $22, debt £4590, very close to quiting. Hav’nt quit before. Left school and stared in computing in 1957, worked my way up in Data Processing, Management Info Systems, Client/Server and all the other generations of corporate computing. Retired and started on IM, having been able to sort out real meaning from several decades of hype from International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) I was un-prepared for the confusion of IM. My analysis is the mix of techno and marketing info we seek makes it easy for confusion to reign.
Only recently found the Warriors and Oz. More hopefull than of late but debt makes my purchasing slow

Hi Oz,

1. Finding worthwhile quality products to sell
2. Starting from scratch with virtually no list
3. Not being a writer – and so difficulty with blog and article posts

I think I may have bought one of Frank Kern’s products when I first forayed into IM many months ago. If I did, and I think I did, I didn’t keep it as I have nothing of his on my hard drive. What puts me of is his language. It seems to me that it’s all about how easy it is to get someone to buy from you because we are pretty much all stupid.
This latest fiasco with his list building software really interests me: when I read his post I was just totally put off. I can’t even remember what words put me off, I just deleted his email while at the same time wondering how he could email me when I know I unsubscribed months ago.
Anyway, then I was bombarded with all of his list sending me emails to get his great software. I deleted them al wondering if it was just me. Then I started to read comments about how the program only worked with a certain autoresponder…..and then a bug/security issue was discovered. Now, when I was reading those posts I wasn’t surprised. I thought that it was intentional, a built in ‘flaw’ in order for him to benefit in some way.
But, from what I can read, everyone thinks he is a gift from god and what a shame it is that in trying to do something to help newbies his programmers have screwed him…..
So, is it just me? Is he really the knight in shinning armour or, is he a cult figure?

Well, I don’t have much of a story to tell. Over the last four years, I’ve…. dabbled in affiliate marketing. Two of those years was spent trying to use FTP via dialup and in between phone calls. Desperate times, desperate measures.
One and a half of those years was spent doing nothing with what I learned at all. I practically gave up. Frustration (and being limited to a dialup connection) will do that to you. Sold all of my domains for pennies and settled once again into my low paying 9-to-5.
This January, I decided to try again. I’m a masochist. Can’t help it. I also have this problem where if I KNOW I should be able to do something, then I can’t focus on anything until I do it.
And all the “gurus” made all of this seem SO EASY. And I was an apt student, too. I listened. I watched. I read. I invested. I implemented. I have the multiple digit gigs of pdfs and text documents alone to prove it.
Maybe I just shut down due to permanent analysis paralysis. I also noticed that the greater majority of supermarketers simply regurgitate the same things over and over…. I once drew a flowchart of all the things that I had ever learned from IM products. There weren’t many differences in methods within various marketing niches. I thought, what the hell. I’ll just implement them all and build the most successful websites EVAR. Fail. If I were smarter, I would have bundled that up and sold it.
Anyway, sorry. Got off track.
Frustration and failure. Even when I had given up, it still plagued the back of my mind. What was I doing wrong? Maybe I just ain’t cut out for this internet crap. LOL maybe I was spending too much time reading and watching videos to do anything right.
I felt stupid.
Yesterday, I came across GVMC… and I STILL felt stupid. But at least I know that it’s not because of what I don’t know, but because of what I was TAUGHT.
I went from there to grabbing SEOnTrial.
Afterwards, I laughed to myself and thought “who the hell is this… this OZ person!?” Imagine someone telling you that the color blue is actually GREEN. We just call it blue because we’re taught to call it blue. And then, they PROVED IT.
Yes, yes, I know it sounds absurd, but there’s no other way I can describe it. A paradigm shift. Stuff so wacky, kooky and far off the beaten path that it just may work.
Hahahaha okay, sorry Oz. You’ve already proved that the stuff in those two reports work. Let’s try things your way as opposed to the way everyone else has told me.
Who knows, you may even receive my first Success Story Testimonial…

That’s quite a story, Jay!
How come you were using dial up? What part of the world are you?
Your experience just confirms what everyone else has been saying… IM is simple, the Gurus make it simple so that you buy their stuff… their stuff is not actually very good… and they basically all say the same thing.
I have a similar idea to your flow chart – where I’ll break down IM into the basic elements, so that everyone can see just how simple IM really is.
About SEOn Trial… someone else said they thought I was on drugs after they read the first sentence of the report.

I’m actually in a rural area of the US. Believe it or not, we’ve only had DSL for maybe… two months, and we’ve only had paved roads for a little over two years. It wasn’t a conscious decision to come back here, but you never know what strange curveballs life may throw at you. Not a lot of opportunities, unless you want to be a farmer. IM has become my way of bringing opportunity to me. Bringing the “mountain to Mohammad”, so to speak.
lol it’s moreso made me feel like Jacques Cousteau looking for some invisible giant squid, though. The giant squid of success….
And the flowchart…. I discovered that usually when you draw one up for a guru’s info-product, there’s a huge blank section before “Profit!” that’s always labeled “??????”
And yeah, I still think you’re crazy. Maybe a little TOO sane? Can’t argue with the results, though. You’ve made me a believer and a follower.

Too often the purchase of one product leads to another, and yet another…You have to be on everybody and their grandmothers list to get the promised information, resulting in receiving loads of email promoting more stuff. So yes, I too have spent thousands of dollars on the internet but the dream of making an independent life for myself hasn’t come true. Still, I have little regrets because all of it took me where I am today, which is on this amazing site. I think the biggest problem we face is the information overload and the many methods out there, many of them promising to teach you how to become a millionaire in 4 minutes flat. My personal challenge now is about focus: figuring out which method I want to use and sticking to it.

I can relate to what all the previous posters have said. I have invested a ‘little’ money in some very good info products about SEO. But, I have wasted over $100K (yes you read that correct) over the last 12 and a half years trying to find the truth and build an online business.
Now there’s not much money left to buy anything more.
I think what happens is people find a way that works for them at any given time and then they promote that way as the Holy Grail and sell everyone that will buy with hype and promise.
I’ve been a victim of that and now I just don’t go buy any SEO products as most are a waste of money.
I just found this site through another marketer that is supposed to be ‘sharing’ a FREE report from OZ. I haven’t found the report but I will scan the site and see if it was really worth my time to put my name and email address on yet another marketer’s list.

SEOn Trial is a definite eye opener for me. Thanks for it! I got practically the same results as in the report today upon checking the questionable site on Google Search.
Shocking indeed!
Much thanks to Steve for the heads up to your report.
I am definitely looking at SEO and ranking on Google on a whole new dimension now.
And what is more important, is that I no longer just take the word out there as ‘truth’. I have now woken up to a new way of always questioning and testing things out to make sure that things are what they are as opposed to what is regurgitated or openly pushed forth as truth.
Just because many say it is true – doesn’t make it so.
My IM journey has been like this – many a site or blog that is blackholed somewhere on internet space with no traffic. Lots of guru this and that are wasting up space on my hard drive. And my efforts seem like I’m shooting darts at empty space.
I am so distrustful of the many so called gurus, and yet I seem to be caught up in some buying daze as if ‘the next one just might be it – the answer to all my problems’!
No more! I will be more alert and more skeptical from now on. Not buying the dream, but questioning and testing and always searching for what works with how things really are.
SEOn Trial is great wake up call to the misinformation and regurgitated false practices of SEO and IM in general out there.
I should have realized in the beginning that even in internet space – things aren’t always what they seem or appear to be. Getting from point A to point B and so forth requires due diligence and responsibility to what works with the technology of the present age and what exists as practical proof.
Beware of booby traps and false directions as they are rampant everywhere when people are all clamoring for a piece of the prize. And big Google is like some alien protecting its forts and trying to corner everyone into its control.
Having said all this, I am definitely going to unsubscribe from a lot of so called guru ezines and get their tentacles off of me. Better just a few than an army of conflicting, distracting information. Information that is expensive on one’s time and energy and eventually on one’s hard earned money.
Thanks Oz. You are now on my reading list. It is refreshing and empowering to find someone that actually encourages you to think and decide for yourself as opposed to being spoon fed and rammed through with information.
Where do I find more info on how to purchase your other reports?
IM getting wiser,

[Reply]
Oz,
After reading one of your reports and also reading some of the replies on this thread it reminded me of the time in my internet marketing career where everything changed – literally overnight!
You see, I was like many of the people on this thread who are frustrated, not getting the results they want or need and quite frankly are sick and tired of hearing all the “guru’s” crap about how they make a killing with a secret tip or technique.
I felt the same way – I tried all kinds of stuff to make money, then moved onto something else… I did this over and over again – never really getting the success that I wanted.
I did have “some” success – mainly with e-commerce sites. I am pretty good at SEO, and was able to rank for all my longtail keywords with ease. Then I went after my categories and was able to get page one rankings as well, many of them in the top three! So I got plenty of free traffic to my e-commerce sites, made good money with them, but got dragged down by the customer support issues when selling physical products!
Not only that but I had to deal with shipping issues, items arriving damaged – all kinds of problems!
It was at the height of my frustration that I realized what I needed to do in order to have the kind of success and life that I really wanted…
Believe it or not, I actually sold my main e-commerce site! I was just tired of it, all of it!!!
This was when I re-engineered my whole online business. The first thing I did was find a business partner, someone else who had some success online but hadn’t made it “big” yet…
This one decision for me was huge! Now I had someone to discuss things with, to plan out what we wanted to accomplish and most importantly – to have someone help me stick to the plan instead of getting sidetracked with the “next shiny object” that arrived in my inbox LOL!
Not only that but we worked our plan, every single day!
We showed up daily, and treated our online business exactly like what it was – a business!
Sure, we have made slight adjustments to our plan, but our end goal has remained the same, and we are steadily pushing in that direction.
This is what we have been able to achieve in just 12 months, well, were actually in our 13 month now. We are currently bringing in approximately 12,500 a month in reoccurring revenue, also we have self published a book which is available on Amazon that makes us experts in our field. We have an office that we go to every single day, and while we are here – we work!
We are treating our business like a business. There is no one single e-book, seo trick, ppc optimization or copywriting strategy that will help you if you do not run your business exactly like that – a real business!
There is no doubt that in the next 12 months we will hit our goals, which is not to just double our income but to at least triple it. We have some exciting projects that never would have been available to us if we had never made a conscious decision to make a business and treat it that way. Having a partner for me was huge, and the most important thing we ever did was get an office to go to everyday – it really makes you feel like you have to get stuff done while you are in there!
None of what we have already achieved would have been possible without outsourcing. We started with one outsourced staff member (overseas) and at the first of this month hired our seventh team member. They are all excited about what they do, we treat them very well, pay them well and give them plenty of positive feedback when they do well! There is no doubt we will keep this team and add members in the next 12 months.
So my advice to many people on this thread – make a plan, stick with it… Don’t get sidetracked by all the flashy launches (most of which are crap) that are constantly being pushed down your throat, hold yourself accountable, or find a partner to help you with that! If you don’t want a business partner, find someone else who is an online marketer and talk every morning for 5 minutes, state what you DID get done yesterday, what you will do today, what you will do to celebrate once you have completed them, and what you will sacrifice if you DO NOT get them done. Then talk again the next morning and repeat…
Remember, all the tips/tricks/strategies don’t mean anything by themselves, Even Oz’s great reports are useless all by themselves. If you have a business built on systems and outsourcing, then you can take the great knowledge that you learn, develop a process or just integrate it into a process you are already running. Then have your team learn it and implement it in their daily tasks.
Then I believe you will truly have success!

what I learn as a IM newbie is that, doing backlinking is hard, because its sooo time consuming. especially when doing backlinking to blogs and forums, but your books (backlinking faqts and backlinking blackbook) has help me to decide which area to focus, and what to look out for if I ever going to use backlink building services. I too have spent several thousands of Dollars (in UK Sterling) over maybe 7 years and have allowed myself to be bamboozled by many Gurus whilst forever seeking Eldorado!
I’ve tried very hard to drop the “Hobby” attitude and make this a proper Business, to allow my wife and I to retire from our Off Line Retail Business. Only a month from today I’ll be 65, and I have still not displayed the common sense and organisational ability that I had thought were my trademarks through nearly 30 years of Army Service and 3 other roles since then.
Well, this has lit up my horizon and I am now off to unsubscribe from at least 100 lists tonight so that I can FOCUS on some essentials while I choose which IM Business Model I am going to use as THAT ONE WAY!

When you focus on one thing at a time, you will discover that Internet Maraketing is actually quite simple. We have the gurus to thank for making it more commplex than it should be.
I’ll send you an email with a link to the website where you can buy all my reports, but before then you’ll get a chance to preview most of them, so that you know what to expect before you part with your money.
Have a great day,
Oz.
